We're a small business keeping close connections to all our patients for the last 18 and a half years. Come in and see us! We're on point, we don't disappoint.
Kirk Douglass, LCPO opened the company back in 1996. Initially working as a technician in a local prosthetics and orthotics company in 1988, he began attending Northwestern’s Prosthetics program in 1990 and graduated their Orthotics program as well the following year. He’s loved his work and improving the lives of his community of patients for the last 18 years. He has worked closely with patients in rehabilitation for stroke, M.S., Polio, trauma, wound care and spinal injury. His areas of special interest are (not limited to) below-knee and above-knee prosthetic design, neuro-muscular stimulation and control of lower limb deformities with orthotic control.
Kelly Weston, LCPO is a born and raised Washingtonian. After completing his degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Washington here in Seattle, he completed his residence in Spokane at Thompson Custom O & P and joined Douglass CPO in 2013. Kelly specializes in complicated lower extremity orthotics, diabetic wound treatment and pediatric orthotics. He's a strong advocate of animal rescue and spends much of his time running around the streets of West Seattle with his rescued dog, Ruby.
Zenon is currently our Head Technician and Lab Manager. He emigrated from Poland in the 1980s, worked as a silversmith for over 15 years and joined Douglass CPO in 2002. In recent years he has volunteered with Mobilize Mankind in Mexico and Fundación Paso Firme in Guatemala, making prosthetics and orthotics for children with a variety of congenital defects.
Michele began working at Douglass CPO in 2000 as our chief office manager. Over the years she has specialized in the insurance billing of prosthetics and orthotics. Michele is an Idaho native but has made her home in Seattle for the last 20 years. She enjoys traveling, watching golf, the Seahawks and spending time with her husband. Her personal focus and specialty is and always has been taking care of the patient first.
Michael is our other office administrator. He’s been with us since 2014 and is the first face you’ll see in the office. He’s been a court reporter, a commercial fisherman in Alaska, an underground black-market candy salesman and has recently returned to Seattle after enjoying two years of retirement in Portland. Lately he's taken to saying he meditates daily, but it's empirically untrue. He loves pickup basketball and poetry slams and dungeness crab. Careful: if you ask him about lucid dreaming he won’t stop talking.
